The partners Goiener and Tecnalia visited Ispaster on January 8th, a very relevant Case study under assessment in CHESTER project.
Ispaster, located in the north of Spain, is a small municipality that has been working hard in the last 4 years to come up with a renewable installation able to cover the electricity and heat demand of the main public services of the village. Thanks to Barrizar, company in charge of the design and implementation of the grid, the partners were able to visit the different installations that compose this interesting network: components for electric (PV panels) and heat production (Biomass boilers + solar thermal), the storage equipment and the various monitoring toolsemployed.
This visit provided a better understanding of this case study and gave important inputs for the improved business model baseline to be defined now in WP6 Market and business opportunities assessments. A new economic framework will be defined in this work package that fits CHESTER better.
